Some of the artifacts that i remember were personal prized possessions. For example awards, photos of people they admired and loved, comics, games, etc.
When I read the book and the first chapter of the O'Brien book it made me realize that these people were no different than any of us. It tells me more of what they went through and what they carried to keep themselves occupied.
that's why the book called Things They Carried..XD
ReplyDeletethe soldiers are of the same age as the students in our college, exactly. We usualy see adults or even older men who atr the vets, but at the time of war they were very young.
ReplyDeleteThese solders are really not different then us in fact they are like us they had dreams, went to school and worried about the same things we worry about. After reading the first chapter all I can say wow and I say wow because they went through a lot.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of that. You can tell that the things they carried really meant a lot to the people and it shows us that people in war weren't always thinking about war the whole time.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. The people were just like us and trying to come back to their families.
